Our 10 year anniversary and an announcement regarding a reduction to Sunday deliveries

Happy New Year!  We hope the Holidays provided everyone a time to gather with family and friends and take a moment to reflect on the past year’s events.  As we enter 2023, we celebrate our tenth anniversary at Capital Route Sales.  When we started, our mission was to provide an educational source to buyers and sellers alike that the market needed.  Thank you from the bottom of my heart!

On January 6, 2023, FedEx Ground announced Sunday deliveries would be reduced in specific markets by March 13, 2023.  They are finalizing plans on which markets would no longer have to service their routes on Sundays.  50% of the country will still have Sunday deliveries.  We believe this will be divided between the rural areas no longer having to be serviced and expect the major metropolitan markets to continue with seven-day-a-week operations.

In our opinion, this was overdue, as this was a strain both on the contractor and FedEx Ground.  As you can imagine, it was wasteful to send a driver out with so few stops on a Sunday in any rural areas, plus a strain to have the manpower at the station for the sort.
